Principal's Message

Dear Holladay Families,

As the proud principal of Holladay Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year!  As we move together into this school year, the faculty and staff at Holladay Elementary School join me in saying we’re thrilled to have each of you as part of the Holladay learning community. We look forward to the engaging learning opportunities that your child will experience in the classroom this year. The Holladay faculty is dedicated to providing students a safe school environment where we build positive relationships, focus on the individual growth of each child, and establish high expectations for learning.

Each year, we are dedicated and determined to achieve our mission, which is to implement enriching, authentic, and appropriately challenging lessons that allow students to imagine, create, assess, and apply their knowledge to real world scenarios. The education Holladay provides will empower students to master the essential knowledge, skills, and attributes for learning and life.

Our school-wide theme is, “Five Houses, One Family.” In the house system, the entire student body is divided into smaller groups called "houses." Each house includes students from various grade levels, creating a cross-sectional community within the larger school. Our houses have names, colors, mascots, and mottos that distinguish them from one another. The five houses at Holladay all mean “hawk” in various languages, which is our beloved school mascot.  Houses Havik, Uklebe, Falco, Taka, and Halcón provide students with opportunities to experience a strong sense of camaraderie and loyalty to their house while promoting a whole school family feel. The house system creates a supportive network where students feel safe, encouraged, and motivated. The bonds formed within a house often lead to lifelong friendships and a deep connection to the school community. Our goal is for students to know that we care about them, and we are committed to helping them grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally. We want ALL students and families to know they are accepted, valued, belong and are welcome here at Holladay.

Thank you for being a member of the Holladay Family and allowing our faculty the opportunity and privilege to work with your children every day. If at any time I can be of service to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Sincerely,

Brooke Givens
